About the Department

The Pathology Department of the National Hospital consists of histology, cytology, and immunohistochemistry laboratories, as well as a morgue. It plays a crucial role in the diagnostic process, providing highly accurate morphological diagnosis of diseases.

The department’s work focuses on confirming and refining diagnoses, evaluating the effectiveness of clinical treatment, and improving the overall quality of medical care. Pathologists and cytologists perform histological, cytological, and immunohistochemical examinations of surgical and biopsy materials, review histological samples from other medical institutions for verification, and identify morphological diagnoses. Special attention is given to oncocytological diagnostics, enabling early detection of malignant processes.

Services:

Ante-Mortem Diagnostics

1. Histological Examination of Biopsies

   Analysis of tissue samples obtained during diagnostic procedures to detect inflammatory, degenerative, precancerous, and cancerous conditions.

2. Histological Examination of Surgical Material

   Study of organs and tissues removed during surgery (e.g., appendix, uterus, tumors) to clarify diagnosis, determine disease stage, and assess surgical radicality.

3. Immunohistochemical (IHC) Studies

   Use of specialized tissue staining techniques for accurate diagnosis, including evaluation of endometrial causes of infertility.

4. Intraoperative Diagnostics

   Rapid histological analysis during surgery for real-time clinical decision-making and determining further treatment strategy.

5. Cytological Studies

   Examination of cellular material obtained from scrapings, punctures, and biological fluids to detect pathological changes, including early-stage disease.

Post-Mortem Diagnostics:

1. Autopsies

   Comprehensive examination of the deceased to establish the primary cause of death, correlate clinical and morphological diagnoses, and identify possible diagnostic or treatment errors.

2. Examination of Organs and Tissues

   Detailed macro- and microscopic study of internal organs and systems to detect pathological changes.

3. Laboratory Processing of Material

   Preparation, fixation, staining, and microscopic analysis of collected samples in compliance with pathology standards.
