Blood Tests
To obtain accurate results, it is recommended to follow these rules:
Blood should be collected in the morning on an empty stomach (8–14 hours without food).
The day before the test, avoid overeating, alcohol, physical exertion, and emotional stress.
Do not smoke for at least 1 hour before the test.
It is recommended to rest for 10–20 minutes before the procedure.
If taking medications, consult your attending physician.
It is not recommended to undergo testing immediately after physiotherapy, instrumental examinations, or other medical procedures.
Repeated tests should preferably be performed under the same conditions: in the same laboratory and at the same time of day.
Special Requirements
The following tests must be performed strictly on an empty stomach after 12–14 hours of fasting:
lipid profile (cholesterol, HDL, LDL, triglycerides, etc.);
glucose tolerance test.
Urine Tests
General Urinalysis
On the day before the test, avoid foods that may change urine color (beets, carrots, etc.) and do not take diuretics.
Hygienic procedures must be performed before collection.
A midstream portion of the first morning urine sample (approximately 50 ml) should be collected into a sterile container.
Women are not advised to take the test during menstruation.
If necessary, the sample may be stored at +2…+8 °C.
24-Hour Urine Collection
All urine over a 24-hour period is collected except for the first morning portion.
The material should be stored in a refrigerator at +4…+8 °C.
Urine Culture for Microflora
Collection is performed after hygienic procedures.
A midstream portion of the first morning urine is collected into a sterile container.
Stool Tests
Stool samples for dysbiosis, coprogram, helminth eggs, and protozoa should be collected before starting antibacterial therapy.
Preparation:
For 3–4 days before the test, avoid laxatives, castor oil, petroleum jelly, and rectal suppositories.
Do not use material collected after an enema or after an X-ray examination with barium.
Sample Collection:
The sample is collected after natural bowel movement into a clean sterile container.
Avoid contamination with urine.
The container should not be filled more than one-third full.
Store at +2…+8 °C; do not freeze.
Important:
Material collected the previous day is not suitable for examination.
