National Hospital is one of the oldest medical organizations in the country. The history of its development is closely interconnected with the entire healthcare system of Kazakhstan. Today, the hospital is distinguished by an innovative approach to organizing patient care. It is here that most innovations in domestic and international healthcare are implemented, and the most advanced methods of diagnosing and treating a wide range of diseases are introduced.
Our history in numbers:
1929 – Opening of an outpatient clinic for employees of the Council of People’s Commissars (beginning of history);
1931 – Opening of a surgical department;
1939 – Opening of an X-ray room, sanatorium department, and mud therapy unit;
1946 – Renamed to the Hospital of the Council of Ministers of the Kazakh SSR;
1965 – Opening of an emergency care department;
1969 – Opening of the Department of Anesthesiology and Intensive Care;
1972 – Opening of the ENT Department;
1977 – Unified Clinical and Diagnostic Laboratory established;
1994 – Opening of a department serving diplomatic missions;
2009 – Opening of the Surgery Center;
2011 – Opening of the Cardiology Center and Interventional Cardiology;
2012 – National ISO Accreditation;
2015 – JCI Accreditation (renewed in 2018, 2021, 2024);
2016 – Opening of the Neurosurgery Department;
2017 – Transition to Joint-Stock Company, introduction of Primary health care within the State Guaranteed Benefit Package of free medical care;
2019 – Opening of the Oncosurgery Department;
2022 – Opening of the Arrhythmology Center and the Parkinson’s Disease Treatment Center;
2023 – Transition to Republican State Enterprise, opening of the Gerontology Center.
