The Neurosurgery Department of the National Hospital provides a full range of modern specialized neurosurgical care, including high-tech surgical interventions on the brain, spinal cord, and peripheral nervous system. Over the past 10 years, the department has performed approximately 9,000 successful neurosurgical operations. Annually, more than 1,000 complex surgical procedures are carried out, reflecting the high level of clinical activity and professional expertise of the specialists.
The department performs surgeries for cerebrovascular diseases, central nervous system tumors, degenerative spinal diseases, chronic pain syndromes, and other congenital neurosurgical pathologies. Modern endovascular, microsurgical, endoscopic, and minimally invasive technologies are widely used in clinical practice, ensuring a high level of safety and treatment effectiveness.
Neurosurgeons of the department have completed internships and advanced training in leading international neurosurgery centers in the USA, Japan, Turkey, and South Korea. The specialists continuously improve their professional skills and participate annually in major international scientific congresses and conferences in Europe, the USA, and Asia.
The department is actively involved in scientific and educational activities. Currently, the team includes three PhD candidates, four Masters of Public Health, and three physicians with an MBA, reflecting a high level of scientific potential and effective clinical management.
Over the past decade, the department’s staff has published more than 10 articles in journals recommended by the Committee for Quality Assurance in Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan, as well as over 10 articles in international peer-reviewed journals indexed in Scopus (Q1–Q3), demonstrating the department’s high scientific activity and contribution to modern neurosurgery.
The department regularly hosts training masterclasses and international conferences. It collaborates with leading neurosurgeons from regional and international clinics, conducting joint consultations and, when necessary, collaborative treatment at the hospital.
The department also serves as an educational and clinical base for neurosurgeon training. Over 30 specialists from Kazakhstan and abroad — including Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan, India, Mongolia, and Uganda — have completed internships and clinical training at the department.
The combination of high clinical volume, modern technologies, international collaboration, and active scientific activity allows the Neurosurgery Department of the National Hospital to occupy a leading position in the region for neurosurgical care.
