In accordance with the Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan “On Public Health and the Healthcare System” and the current regulations governing inpatient medical care.
Indications for Hospital Admission
Hospital admission is carried out when medical indications are present, including:
the need for round-the-clock medical supervision;
the need for comprehensive diagnostics, treatment, or surgical intervention;
acute conditions requiring emergency medical care;
exacerbation of chronic diseases requiring inpatient treatment;
the need for specialized medical care unavailable in outpatient settings.
Types of Hospital Admission
Planned Admission:
carried out based on a referral from a primary healthcare physician or a specialized physician;
conducted within a pre-arranged timeframe;
requires preliminary medical examination of the patient.
Emergency Admission:
carried out without a referral;
performed based on medical indications through emergency medical services or the hospital admission department;
provided immediately when there is a threat to the patient’s life or health.
Admission Procedure
the patient arrives at the hospital admission department;
an initial examination is conducted by a physician;
the appropriate specialized department is determined;
medical documentation (medical history and registration forms) is completed;
emergency diagnostic procedures are performed if necessary.
Consent to Hospitalization
hospitalization is carried out based on the patient’s informed voluntary consent;
the patient has the right to receive complete information regarding diagnosis, treatment goals, and methods;
for legally incapacitated individuals, consent is provided by a legal representative;
in emergency situations where the patient cannot express their will, medical care may be provided without consent in accordance with applicable legislation.
Documents Required for Planned Admission
The patient shall provide:
an identity document;
a specialist consultation report from the Hospital;
a referral for hospitalization;
pre-hospital examination results (in accordance with Order No. 27 of the Minister of Health of the Republic of Kazakhstan dated March 24, 2022).
Patient Rights and Responsibilities
Patient Rights:
to receive quality and safe medical care;
to be treated with respect by medical staff;
to receive information about their health condition;
to refuse treatment in accordance with legal procedures.
Patient Responsibilities:
to comply with the hospital’s internal regulations;
to follow the recommendations of medical personnel;
to treat hospital property with care;
to comply with sanitary and epidemiological requirements.
General Conditions of Stay
the medical organization provides round-the-clock supervision and treatment;
the duration of hospitalization is determined by the attending physician based on the patient’s condition;
visiting hours and stay regulations are governed by the hospital’s internal rules.
