On the eve of their professional holiday, employees of the National Hospital organized a table tennis tournament. Twenty participants from various departments, the administration, and the security service took part in the event.
Table tennis is considered a highly beneficial sport because it is exciting, provides excellent cardiovascular exercise, and requires a high level of concentration and mental focus.
The sport originated in England in the late 19th century as an alternative to lawn tennis. The British played ping-pong during the long winter months when they spent most of their time indoors.
In 1988, table tennis was included in the Olympic Games program due to its widespread popularity, as table tennis tables could be found almost everywhere. The employees of the National Hospital are also great enthusiasts of ping-pong.
