Young scientists of Kazakhstan discover new facets of medicine

Why Kazakhstan, extracting 11% of the world’s titanium production, cannot produce at least its own implants? Madi Tleshev, a young doctoral student of the Department of Orthopedic Dentistry of KazNMU, asked this logical question and developed a new generation of Kazakhstan implant:

   * Our titanium is mined at 29 mines, then it is exported and already it is returned to us from Korea, Germany, the USA in the form of the same very necessary and expensive implants in dentistry, – the scientist noted, – In our study, we created and patented the production of titanium dioxide implant and silver particles, but most importantly, we made the protective film much thicker up to 500 nanometers. Tests on rats and mice were successful. We have shown that such production is possible and our implants will be ten times cheaper than foreign ones, since raw materials are mined here.

The doctor presented his work at the Sovmin forum 2025 forum of young scientists at the National Hospital, where 10 more specialists took part this year. They talked about how to use MRI to detect dementia in the early stages, restore extended ureteral defects, treat stenoses and biliary complications after liver transplantation.

   * The works were all at a high level, but we chose those that were confirmed by a good evidence base and had all scientific stages, because the main property of modern science is its practical application, and we saw, indeed, complex work, it will be applied soon in medicine – noted a member of the jury, head of the department of the Hurghia of the National Hospital MC UDP RK Estai Abzalbek.

As a result, the first place was given to Madi Tleshev, the second Dilfuza Sultanmuratova, she talked about the use of Foley’s catheter and misoprostol to induce childbirth, and the third Rinat Nurzhan, his report was on the restoration of the ureter. All of them received cash prizes for further research.
