From Epilepsy to Tumors

The 6^th Congress of Neurosurgeons of Kazakhstan was held in Karaganda, with the participation of our leading specialist, Shayakhmet Makhanbetkhan.

During the congress, both experienced neurosurgeons and young researchers shared their expertise. Over the course of two days, physicians discussed the most important areas of national and global neurosurgery. These included gene therapy for the treatment of epilepsy, deep brain stimulation for patients with Parkinson’s disease, stroke treatment and prevention, sagittal craniosynostosis, aneurysms, gliomas, meningiomas, needle biopsy of the spine, clinical disorders of the shoulder joints, and many other topics.

There is no doubt that such meetings are essential for the advancement of medicine, including the continued development of our hospital.
