Doctors emphasize that prevention includes a balanced diet, regular physical activity, walking in the fresh air, giving up bad habits and controlling vitamin D levels.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">\u00a0 \u00a0In cases of severe disease, when osteoporosis leads to destruction of the joints, surgical treatment may be required. In the National Hospital, arthroscopic operations are performed for injuries of the knee and shoulder joints, as well as osteosynthesis of fractures of the tubular bones.
