On the eve of World Thrombosis Day, which is celebrated on the birthday of the founder of the pathophysiology of thrombosis Rudolf Virchow, the international conference “Thromboses” is being held at the National Hospital.
There are now 10 million cases of thromboembolism a year in the world. One person dies of thrombosis every forty seconds. In Kazakhstan, over 5,000 people a year are treated with various types of thrombosis.
– Venous thromboses are a disease of hospitalized patients, as in half of the cases they develop in the hospital and within 3 months after discharge, approximately 20%, – stressed the head of the National Hospital Askhat Bralov in his welcoming speech, – Therefore, international experts in assessing the quality of medical services assess the professional level of doctors by the number of registered venous thrombosis after discharge from the hospital and emphasize the importance of disease prevention.
It is important to note that the initiative to raise awareness for World Thrombosis Day in Kazakhstan first originated ten years ago within the walls of the hospital and an international risk assessment system has been introduced here – when a patient is admitted, the doctor examines him and takes this into account in treatment and applies a multidisciplinary approach in treatment when doctors of different directions are involved.
One of the brilliant reports at the conference was at the head of the department of ultrasound and functional diagnostics Lyudmila Begalina, she is the leading Uzist of Kazakhstan
– Pregnant women are at risk because their anatomy and hemodynamics change, their veins widen and contract, and it is important to identify the threat in time. This is helped by a safe ultrasound method in a certain position with Doppler imaging. Diagnosis is complicated by changed landmarks and limited access. And here the doctor’s experience and the correct technique help.
