May 12th is World Day of the Nurse. This is not just a profession, but a calling: speed, care, responsibility, and support at the forefront of medicine. The comfort and speedy recovery of the patient depend on their professional hands and hearts.
Lazzat Tileuova, a nurse-anesthesiologist at the Anesthesiology, Resuscitation and Intensive Care Department of the National Hospital, dreamed of being a doctor since childhood, like many girls, treating dolls, imagining herself in a white coat. In Tashkent city, she graduated from medical college, then entered the institute for the specialty higher nursing. She worked at the Republican Endocrinology Center and then moved to Almaty. Here, in private clinics, she gained vast experience, and then transferred to the National Hospital.
– What does it mean for a woman to be a nurse, what kind of character is needed?
– A nurse puts all her soul and all her time into work, every day improving her skills and knowledge to improve the health and quality of life of patients, – says Lazzat.
– What are the most memorable moments in your work?
– Once at night, a patient with pulmonary edema was admitted to the intensive care unit; we provided him with emergency assistance. The patient felt better, he began to breathe on his own, and we also exhaled… The man thanked us, saying that we were magicians!
– Let’s imagine that nurses suddenly did not come to work. Could a doctor cope?
– We are closely connected with each other; a nurse is the doctor’s second hand, in the same operating room when administering anesthesia during surgery. In the intensive care unit, all prescriptions and care are performed by the nurse; much depends on her so that the patient recovers faster and returns to a quality life.
