For a year now, our Hospital has been engaged in a large-scale and absolutely relevant for all medical institutions project “Bedsores.” It aims to improve the quality of care for patients at risk of developing pressure ulcers – these are bedridden and elderly patients who need constant attention and specialized care.
The project team is experienced professionals. Coordinator, nurse anesthetist – Zhanna Bayarstanova, nurse anesthetist – Lazzat Tileuova and district nurse – Zauresh Timetova focused on four key areas:
– Training of medical personnel in the prevention and early detection of pressure ulcers
– Monitor patients at high risk of complications
– Introduction of modern technologies and means of care, including specialized mattresses, dressings and antiseptics
– Increased interdisciplinary communication between nurses, physicians and administrative staff.
The Bedsores project is not just a medical initiative, but an important step towards humanizing care and raising standards of care. The National Hospital demonstrates leadership in nursing, last year there were no bedsores among patients.
