A patient with headaches was admitted to the neurosurgery department. After diagnostics, including MRI, she was diagnosed with a giant brain tumor, which for a long time did not give pronounced and clear symptoms. Neurosurgeons suggest that, most likely, the formation grew slowly, but for some reason did not give itself out. As a result, the tumor reached 7-8 centimeters. The patient urgently underwent a two-stage operation, first the country’s leading neurosurgeon Mynzhylky Berdikhodzhaev embolized all the feeding vessels of the growth to reduce blood loss, and then neurosurgeon Shayakhmet Shorekhanuly and the team of his department removed the tumor to the woman completely. The operation lasted 6.5 hours, it belongs to one of the most difficult, but in the end everything went well. Now the woman is recovering in the department of neurosurgery, is already preparing for discharge.
– The uniqueness of this case is that it was revealed completely unexpectedly, it was accompanied by only a minor headache, although such tumors cause other serious symptoms, such as paralysis, memory loss, and weakness. But, if we had not intervened in time, the patient would have gone an irreversible process, – said neurosurgeon Shayakhmet Shorekhanuly.
