For the first time in the history of Kazakhstani medicine, the neurosurgeon of the Mynzhylky Berdikhodjaev National Hospital conducted an online master class for French colleagues at the prestigious international LINNC (Live Interventional Neuroradiology & Neurosurgery Course) conference in Paris. Traditionally, it gathers leading neurosurgeons, interventional radiologists, and scientists from around the world. Together with a team of neurosurgeons from Kazakhstan’s oldest hospital, the doctor performed two complex surgeries: removal of an anterior communicating artery aneurysm and a malformation of the occipital lobe with hemorrhage. The head of the neurosurgery department at the National Hospital, Sarshaev Marat, complemented the master class with live reports in Paris on similar topics.
This event marked a significant breakthrough for Kazakhstan, demonstrating the high level of training of domestic specialists and the technical equipment of our clinics, which meet global standards and are already able to share their treatment methods.
“This is not only a personal achievement but also a result of teamwork, as well as proof that domestic medicine can be represented on the international stage on equal terms,” noted Mynzhylky Berdikhodjaev.
The landmark conference has been held in France for 28 years, and this country is considered the birthplace of endovascular surgery, that is, through blood vessels. Every year, doctors from five leading countries in neurosurgery and interventional radiology share their developments at the LINNC conference. In 2025, Kazakhstan was included in this prestigious list — alongside France, Canada, Germany, and Colombia. This is especially symbolic in the year when the National Hospital turns 96. It is rightfully considered the oldest multidisciplinary hospital in the country. In 2025 alone, the hospital’s neurosurgeons performed 369 high-tech operations, confirming its status as a leading specialized center capable not only of implementing advanced methods but also of sharing them with the professional community on the international stage.
