Akerke Bekbolatova, an allergist therapist at the National Hospital, spoke about the autumn allergy treatment.
Autumn treatment of seasonal allergies – preliminary preparation of the body for the next spring allergic season. At the same time, special antiallergic treatment (allergen-specific immunotherapy) is carried out. It gradually increases the body’s resistance to substances that cause allergies, helping to tolerate symptoms much easier in the spring or not at all.
We apply new types of laboratory tests of hypersensitivity and allergy tests to diagnostics. Each patient is prescribed individual treatment and safe and effective allergen-specific immunotherapy (vaccination) is carried out. The therapeutic process takes place under the supervision of an allergist and immunologist. All this is based on improving the patient’s condition and reducing the risk of re-occurrence of allergies. There are several types of allergy vaccines. The most common form is injection (vaccination), which is carried out under the supervision of a doctor. And modern options are liquid or tablets that can be buried under the tongue. A similar method can be used at home. Currently used vaccines are safe and effective, meet international standards. The first effect of treatment is observed after a few months, and on a stable result – after 2-3 years.
It is possible to completely cure chronic allergies by fully taking allergen-specific immunotherapy (vaccine) in an amount and within the time frame established by the doctor. This therapy gradually accustoms the body to an allergen and forms the correct reaction of the immune system. Such a stable result is observed in most patients who have undergone a full course of treatment without interruption. Many patients after several years of treatment got rid of allergy symptoms that bothered them before.
