Health of health workers is important

   Very responsible and hard work of doctors who take care of patients. They also often experience fatigue and anxiety. We talked about this with the psychologist of the National Hospital Manshuk Kurmanbekova.

   What difficulties do medical workers most often face?

   – Work in the health sector requires constant vigilance and attentiveness, as well as great responsibility. Employees strictly follow certain rules every day and solve complex issues. Obeys the rules of the management system prevailing in the hospital. All this creates a stable inner tension and emotional mood. Pays close attention to patients during the day and works closely with colleagues. And in the evening they try to find time for family, vacation or their business. This rhythm often disrupts the body’s natural sleep and recovery cycle. Over time, fatigue is observed, anxiety increases. And this increases the risk of burnout.

   How important is it to recognize that work requires responsibility?

   – It is important to understand that every person demands responsibility for his work. In health care organizations, employees help many people every day, but sometimes it seems that their work, efforts are ignored. This reduces motivation and increases emotional tension. Constant reflection, discussion of small and large achievements, support of colleagues help to facilitate work. When a person feels the importance of work, it is easier to overcome difficulties and maintain an internal balance.

   What advice would you give to employees who feel tired and anxious?

   – Take care of yourself as if you were sick. Take time for short breaks to relax, let out and rebuild your emotions. Even small steps will help maintain mental health and enjoy the work, reducing walks, breathing exercises, 10-minute lull.
