On this day in 1929, after the transfer of the capital of the Kazakh SSR from Kyzyl-Orda to Alma-Ata, an outpatient clinic was opened in a small house for the then highest political elite. The first department was emergency assistance, although doctors were getting on the arb. She received her own 55-bed building with a pharmacy, a table for certificates, therapeutic, surgical and gynecological departments only four years later. And then there were the years of war, social construction, perestroika, independence. But all this time the hospital was distinguished by its own traditions, the main of which was politeness, discipline, order. Employees are still distinguished by the affability to greet everyone and everything here.
Today the hospital is considered the flagship of domestic medicine, it has 16 departments in its arsenal, its own diagnostic and pharmacological laboratories, several scientific centers and an ambulance, doctors now get to patients on fords and hundai. In total, there are 1,500 specialists in the hospital staff who treat not only Kazakhstani patients, but also foreign ones, since the beginning of the year there have been over six hundred of them and even from such distant countries as Brazil. Having acquired a venerable age, the hospital has become the main center of gerontology in the country, 118 centenarians are registered, several are over a hundred years old.
