– When I started 43 years ago, in cardiology there was no interventional medicine, stenting, implant on the valves, which is now commonplace for us. Patients’ complaints remained the same, but now there is more awareness, less mortality, the main thing is to develop all the time, any lag will throw you out of the profession.
During his life, Kairat Karibaev saved the lives of thousands of people, including outside the hospital – he reanimated a girl who was electrocuted, pregnant on a bus in Astana, a foreigner at the Almaty airport, for which then for a long time the servants of the air harbor saluted him. Of all his operations, he remembers the first most when he had to resuscitate a 46-year-old man with a stun gun 22 times.
– Ten years later, I met him in the department of pulmonology, and was immensely happy that he extended his life, although then there were almost no chances. The fact that we can save, flaunted only in his youth, with experience I realized that I just do my job, time, technique, experience and luck are important in success, and sometimes even all this does not help, and here fate is already working.
