The electrician of the administrative and economic service of the National Hospital of the Medical Center of the Presidential Administration Ruslan Asylbay built a house in the Almaty region, planted a garden, and raises five children. By profession, he has been working for about 30 years, of which eight are in the hospital.
The work of the energy service is invisible to patients: in the hospital it is always light, all systems and complex equipment work smoothly. And even when accidents on electric networks occur in the city, this does not affect the strategic facility in any way.
– I am responsible for uninterrupted power supply, lighting, our team is always at the ready, we work day and night in shifts. I always carry a set of tools with me, this is a professional habit, – Ruslan paints. – There is a lot of work: either the outlet must be urgently replaced, then the cable, I go from building to building, I don’t sit still. This is a kind of exercise, and also communication – specialists with vast experience work in the hospital, with whom it is very interesting to communicate.
Ruslan does not hide: he loves his job, once he went to study at the Talgar College at the call of his heart – he wanted to learn how to do everything with his hands, because such skills on the farm will be useful. And you can always earn money for bread and butter if you do your job with high quality, you treat it with soul.
Our interlocutor is the head of a large family. His wife, Bakytgul, works as a nurse. The eldest son Syrym is studying to be a lawyer, Akbope’s daughter is an English teacher, Beibarys and Ayaru are schoolchildren, the youngest Rayana goes to kindergarten.
-No one followed in my footsteps, now young people have different preferences, but this is their choice. In general, I observe that the younger generation still comes to understand that you need to be able to work with your hands, in the family any skills will come in handy, replace the same outlet, mixer in the bathroom or in the kitchen, says Ruslan.
-2025 President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev declared the Year of Workers’ Professions. Now colleges are conducting active career guidance among adolescents, telling what bonuses and preferences are given to professions.
– Very correct decision. My opinion is that working professions are always in demand. Well, how to do without electricians, plumbers, plasterers, builders, welders, drivers? The list of specialists on whom many industries are tied and held is large.
