The branches of urology and oncourology are developing dynamically in Kazakhstan. However, the prevalence rate of genitourinary tumors is increasing. But thanks to new technologies, mortality from this disease has decreased significantly. According to some official data, over the past two decades, the prevalence of genitourinary tumors in the country has increased by about 25%. However, the mortality rate decreased by 33%. This is the result of modern methods of early diagnosis and treatment.
The National Hospital of the Medical Center of the Presidential Administration of the Republic of Kazakhstan, together with the Association of Oncologists of Kazakhstan, held an Open Day from March 16 to 20. Urologists led by the head of the 3rd surgical department of the National Hospital Aidar Begalin received patients and listened to their complaints.
– Kidney, urine and prostate cancers are most common. Kidney and bladder diseases are more common in citizens over 50 years old. However, it is worrying that in recent years the disease is “getting younger” in men aged 35-40, – says the head of the oncological center of KazNII, chairman of the Association of Oncologists of Kazakhstan Khusan Umurzakov, the first remote operation. Result: high accuracy of the operation and fewer injuries, short recovery time.
Doctors also said that modern imaging methods are used to determine the type of disease: CT, MRI, PET-CT.
– The most important thing is that every citizen over 40 years old undergo a preventive examination. You should give up bad habits, monitor weight, lead an active lifestyle. If urine is mixed with blood, pain or changes in urination appear, you should immediately consult a doctor. In such conditions, every day is very important, experts say.
