In Kazakhstan, the number of diseases of brucellosis is growing. Over the past three years, according to official data, over two thousand people have contracted a dangerous infection in Kazakhstan. The Ministry of Health attributes this to the lack of control over the sale of meat after slaughter and domestic dairy products. Of the more than 2.1 thousand rural districts, only about 30% have veterinary centers, most of which are poorly equipped. Of the 1,164 registered slaughter sites, only 497 are functioning, which forces farmers to carry out backyard slaughter without veterinary control.
– Brucellosis has always been endemic for our livestock region, – added the infectious disease doctor of the National Hospital Saule Shagmanov, – The disease will debut with symptoms of fever, joint pain, sweating, fever, chills, pronounced headache. It is possible to identify an infection only with the help of special analyzes that are done in laboratories.
The disease is not transmitted from person to person. However, it requires immediate treatment, because otherwise it can lead to disability.
